First Response

At the North Pole, no one can hear you freeze.  You are in international waters, and ships cannot get remotely close to you during the expedition season. No helicopter can reach you without pre-deployed fuel depots.  The North Pole is bring your own everything – including rescue.  This is where SIX has your back.

Like all our operations, SIX incorporates multiple redundancies and adaptability into our first responder planning.

  • There is always at least one emergency helicopter nearby, and spare pilots provide near 24/7 coverage.

Fully qualified medics are on hand and have access to front-line medical facilities.  All SIX operators have advanced first-aid training to support the medics.

  • SIX maintains airdrop capabilities if a helicopter cannot land at your location in a timely manner (fog, etc). Unguided cargo parachutes for emergency supplies, and our parachutists can undertake precise insertions if needed.

  • Regular fuel depots along the flight line enhance the loiter time of our helicopters and reduce range anxiety during high-stress situations.

  • The main depots have high-speed internet access, and all operators have multiple redundant systems. SIX goes to great lengths to ensure communications because every emergency response starts with a call for help or backup.  In the event of a loss of communication and we detect abnormal patterns, we will initiate a tiered response to ensure safety.

Where there is nothing, SIX brings it all
